The Green Heart of Birmingham

We are proud to present “The Green Heart of Birmingham,” a short film by Sima Gonsai that captures the spirit of our network of incredible people that we support.

This film is a tribute to the volunteers who show up week after week, giving their time, energy, and love to the places that matter most to their communities.

At the center of this film, and at the centre of our network, are the volunteers. These are the people who clear overgrown paths, plant flowers that brighten our streets, repair woodland bridges, grow food for local food banks and so much more.

What they do strengthens our communities and restores our local nature. As the film shows, the things that make Birmingham’s open spaces special – from guided wildlife walks to upgraded playgrounds – simply wouldn’t happen without the people who quietly dedicate themselves to their local open spaces.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in the filming and to every volunteer across Birmingham. You are the green heart of this city.
