What’s On: BOSF Events 2026
Throughout the year Birmingham Open Spaces Forum brings people together through events, socials and activities that celebrate Birmingham’s parks and open spaces and the communities who care for them.
From seasonal gatherings and skill-sharing sessions to walks, workshops and our AGM, our events are a chance for Friends groups, volunteers and supporters to connect, share ideas and learn from one another. They are also an opportunity to strengthen our network, support local action and inspire more people to get involved in looking after their local green spaces.
Whether you are part of a Friends group, a volunteer, or simply curious to find out more, we would love for you to join us.
Here’s what’s coming up over the next few months:
February
Thursday 12th, Online Capacity Building Workshop, 12.30pm to 2pm
Following the positive feedback from the Capacity Building session at our recent Conference, we are launching a programme of online workshops for BOSF member groups throughout 2026.
The first session will focus on recruiting and retaining volunteers and succession planning, exploring what happens when long-term volunteers need to step back.
This practical online workshop will share simple, realistic ways to bring new people into your group, keep them involved, share responsibilities and avoid burnout, helping groups stay active and resilient for the future.
This session is open to BOSF member groups only, with a maximum of two places available per Friends group.
March
Wednesday 25th, BOSF AGM at Winterbourne House and Gardens, 5pm to 7pm
Join us for our 2026 Annual General Meeting at Winterbourne House and Gardens, held once again in our usual room.
As in previous years, space is limited, with a maximum of two places available per group.
Location:
58 Edgbaston Park Road University of Birmingham, Birmingham B15 2RT England
April
Earthday 2026 celebration event, more info coming soon.
We would love to hear from BOSF member groups or local organisations interested in hosting an event with us in a local park or open space in Birmingham, including skill-sharing activities.
