Friends of Shakespeare Street Park formed in 2026 to help care for and improve the park for the local community. Since forming, the group has planted 18 trees and regularly carries out litter picking and tree watering to help keep the area clean and welcoming. Looking ahead, the group is hoping to secure funding to improve the children’s play area and basketball area, as well as install new benches and bins. They are also exploring plans to create a food growing area for the community.
