• New Hall Water Mill (Friends of)

The Friends of New Hall Water Mill are dedicated to preserving and maintaining this rare piece of Birmingham’s heritage. As one of only two working water mills remaining in the city, the Grade II listed New Hall Mill offers a fascinating glimpse into the past. The group meets every Thursday between 10am and 4pm for regular Work Days, with a few extra sessions added at the start of the ‘Mill season’. During these sessions the volunteers carry out essential conservation, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to the mill buildings and grounds, all while preparing for future Open Days. The Mill opens to the public six times a year, offering visitors a chance to see the historic water wheel in action as it turns to produce flour – a living reminder of the site’s working history.
