Kingston Hill Community Group

The Kingston Hill Community Group are volunteers that are dedicated to restoring and revitalising Kingston Hill Park and its surrounding areas, turning neglected spaces into vibrant community assets. The area is being transformed through the group’s hard work, from restoring flower beds and planting spring bulbs and herbs – to ambitious plans for a community orchard featuring fruit and nut trees. The group is working on plans to improve their local park’s facilities, such as new benches and goal posts to encourage play and relaxation.
This project is a true community effort – alongside local residents, the group is supported by asylum seekers who volunteer their time to give back to the area they currently call home. Take a look at the gallery above to see how the group, with the help of the community, transformed old flower planters – which had become sites for illegal dumping – into vibrant new displays using tyres donated by a local garage.
The group hosts a Litter Pick on the last Saturday of every month from 10:20 am to 11:20 am. It’s a great way to meet neighbours, get active, and enjoy some well-earned refreshments afterward. If you’d like to help restore and protect your local green space, get in touch at [email protected].
