Opened in 1899 Selly Oak Park is the largest public park in the Selly Oak district of Birmingham,UK. Selly Oak park is made up of over 30 acres of a medieval deer park, later part of Weoley Park Farm, all a gift to the district from the Gibbins Family (of Birmingham Battery Company fame). The park provides a pleasant oasis in a busy part of the City, with characteristic views of its neighbours, the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the University of Birmingham. The park has recently been awarded Green Flag 2013-14 status!

Founded in 2006, the Friends of Selly Oak Park acts as a voice for the park, representing its needs and the needs of its users. They have received Green Flag Award status & are a member of the Birmingham Heritage Forum.
