• Dawberry Fields Park (Friends of)

Dawberry Fields Park is a hidden gem in the Brandwood area of Kings Heath. It covers 20 acres and has a wealth of biodiversity supported by an ancient brook and pond, mature hedges and trees, and a wild grass area. Close to a primary school, it has a car park and a popular children’s play area as well as a skate bowl and goalposts. There is excellent access from the surrounding roads, with tarmac paths around the perimeter ideal for walking, running and cycling.

The Friends of Dawberry Fields Park are a small but perfectly formed and enthusiastic group of volunteers, brought together in 2021 by BOSF’s Future Parks Accelerator project. The Friends are just starting out on a mission to improve the park, raise awareness of all it offers, and ensure it is being used for the benefit of the local community.

Activities organised by the Friends include regular sessions for litter picking, maintenance, cutting back and planting. There have also been several successful events including a family-friendly community day with sports taster sessions, children’s crafts and nature activities, with more planned for the future.

The Friends would love to hear from anyone who would like to know more or get involved. Dawberry Fields Forever!
