BOSF logged volunteer hours, April 2023 – March 2024

We are buzzing with excitement and gratitude as we reflect on the incredible impact our member groups have made on Birmingham’s parks and open spaces over the past year!

Between April 2023 and March 2024, our community of volunteers has accomplished something truly remarkable: 105,757 hours of volunteering time! Yes, you read that right – over one hundred thousand hours of selfless service to our beloved green spaces across the city. This amazing contribution is valued at an astounding £1,269,084 based on the current Living Wage Rate of £12 per hour.

The volunteers’ commitment to nurturing and enhancing Birmingham’s parks is beyond inspiring. Each hour they’ve dedicated has enriched the lives of countless residents, providing them with beautiful, safe, and accessible places to connect with nature, exercise, relax, and build community.

We cannot express enough gratitude for their amazing efforts. Every seed planted, every path cleared, every event organised – it all adds up to create a more beautiful, inclusive, and thriving city for us all.
