BOSF Projects
BOSF delivers projects that focus on our work as an anchor organisation supporting and creating community groups across Birmingham’s open green spaces, supporting the community voice in decision making and helping to apply new ideas as they develop.
We also work in partnership with Birmingham City Council and other organisations to support the delivery of projects that look to deliver the same aims BOSF.
Community & Prison Growing Project
Prisoners at HMP Birmingham grow plants from seed, which BOSF distributes to community groups across the city. These groups nurture the crops, share skills, and pass the harvest on to people who need it most. The project not only provides fresh food but also builds skills, confidence, and connections – showing how growing can transform lives and communities.

Tai Chi & Qigong in Parks and Open Spaces
Tai Chi & Qigong involves gentle exercise that combines breathing and relaxation with slow movements, proven to have benefits for both physical and mental health. No previous experience is necessary and it’s free – so why not give it a go?
Growing Birmingham
Allotments, community gardens and growing plots are more than places to grow fruit and veg – they’re spaces for friendship, wellbeing and connection. Together with partners, we’re working to raise the profile of food growing across the city and ensure that everyone has the chance to grow food close to home.
