Thrive gardens in Kings Heath Park, Birmingham, is a centre for Social & Therapeutic Horticultural (STH) and works with a wide range of people, from those with a physical or learning disability, to those with mental health support needs and people with life-changing injuries or illness.  Thrive uses gardening as an opportunity to improve well-being, socialise with others, gain confidence, learn new skills and enjoy the benefits of being in nature.

Thrive has received a large donation from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, which will enable them to create a two-year project, launched in October 2023.  Projects include a new women-only programme called ‘Growing Out’; garden tours and a calendar of community events.

Thrive works in partnership with other park stakeholders, in particular Birmingham City Council parks staff and Friends of Kings Heath Park.

Once a month there are free garden tours to the public.  The next quarter are as follows:

    • Friday 22 March – 12:30
    • Friday 26 April – 11:30 & 12:30
    • Friday 31 May – 11:30 & 12:30
