Everyone is welcome The Fields Millennium Green’s first Wassail

Saturday February 16th 2019 starting at 15:00
(Meet at the carpark opposite the cemetery off Longdales Rd)

The Wassail is a traditional ceremony which takes place in orchards with the idea of ensuring a fruitful harvest next season, and driving away any evil spirits!

As part of the Wassail you will be expected walk around the orchard making lots of noise with anything you bring, e.g. pans, bells, musical instruments etc; singing the traditional

Gloucester Wassail song, drinking apple juice and eating apple cake.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Wear warm clothes and bring a torch.
