Stechford Big Lunch – June Dates 2019

 

Thursday June 6 (Clean up in THE GREEN) – Youths from Nova Training , Station Road (10 – 12 and 1-3); Cleaning BANDSTAND, planting flowers, painting railings and getting the GREEN read for SUNDAY (and BRITAIN IN BLOOM’s IYN 2019).

 

Thursday June 6 (Lunch planning Meeting) 5-6 pm@SBC (If you can volunteer to take charge of something (food table, transporting tables & chairs, putting up bunting, Making the drinks, Barbecuing something, lending a tent.gazebo, manning the Bouncy Castle, manning the tug-a-war, manning the egg & spoon races, manning the garden garden games, doing the SURVEY for Cascades, Train Station & Yardley Fields Projects. Help!!

 

Thursday June 6, 7-9 pm)

We are in the Yardley Fields Recreation Park with the SCOUTS getting fly tipped items out of the field.

 

Saturday June 8, 1.00 -3.30 pm

Yardley Fields Recreation Park – BIG TIDY UP 2

Third attempt at getting the big items out of the park and ‘surveying’ it for future use.

 

SUNDAY JUNE 9 – THE BIG LUNCH (see attached poster).

This is our 8th year of the community lunch. Highlights – Food, Garden Games, Bandstand music, Bouncy Castle (possible Jamaican Jerk Pan)

Tables, Chairs under a Marquee (in case of rain); Portable Toilet (pending)

 

July 6, 2019 – HAVE A FIELD DAY (Field in Trust National Picnic)

In the Yardley Fields Recreation Park – raising the awareness of green spaces in Stechford and our challenge of bringing recreation back to this park.  Supported by the Birmingham City Council’s Parks & Birmingham Open Spaces Forum.
