• New FPA Park Volunteer Development Coordinators for Dawberry Fields and Ward End Park

    We would like to introduce the new Future Parks Accelerator – Volunteer Development Coordinators for two of the Naturally Birmingham project sites, Helen Harvey for Dawberry Fields and Fredy Tematema for Ward End Park! They both have kindly written a short introduction and included their contact info below, please feel free to get in touch with them if you are interested in volunteering at either of the sites or if you have any questions. 

     
    “Hello. My name is Helen and I am the new Volunteer Development Coordinator for Dawberry Fields Park – appointed through funding from the Future Parks Accelerator project. My role is to encourage, help and support the local community to love and get the most out of their green space – with activities both in the park and with the park!
     
    Dawberry Fields is a great asset to the area of Brandwood, with meadow, field, brook, ponds, hedgerows and young trees; as well as a great path network and play area. Together we need to learn to take good care of this park, for both today’s community to enjoy and future generations.

My name is Fredy, I am the new Volunteer Development Coordinator for Ward End Park, appointed by Birmingham Open Spaces Forum to deliver benefits of the Future Parks Accelerator (FPA) project to Ward End and surrounding communities. Ward End Park is inviting all ambitious creative individuals and volunteers to be part of plans to put green spaces right at the heart of the Ward End Community, now and in the future! There are virtual volunteering roles available during COVID-19 lockdown and there will be lots more volunteering opportunities in the park once lockdown is over.
