Martineau gardens – Easter Holiday Family Activities 2019
Come and enjoy family time with your little ones at your local community garden in Edgbaston, Martineau Gardens this Easter holiday. Family sessions on 15, 17, 18, 23 and 24 April starting at 10am or 1.30pm. Most tickets £5 per child. Advance booking essential, just 20 children per activity. Family fun with an environmental/craft activity suitable for 3 to 12 years.
Spring Family Explorers Monday 15 April: Take part in a signs of spring trail and do some pond dipping, Investigate the science of seeds and create some seed-based craft. Dress in bright spring colours!
Dinosaur Discovery Wednesday 17 April: Make an explorer hat, then enter the woods to search for dinosaurs. Create a clay fossil, do an archaeological dig and finish with a dinosaur story. Bring along your own toy dinosaurs if you have them!
Easter Stick Man Thursday 18 April & Tuesday 23 April: Hunt for eggs as you complete the Stick Man Trail (swap your paper eggs for a chocolate egg). We will read the story in the woods and finish off by making Stick Man puppets. Please bring an empty cereal box (or similar) to make your puppets. These four activities are supported by Edgbaston Co-op.
Family Bird Morning Wednesday 24 April: Let your imagination fly! We will make bird feeders, go on a story walk in the woods, and identify birds visiting the gardens. We’ll then go inside to finish the session with birdy art and craft. Please bring a used, clean plastic bottle to make your bird feeder. (10am only)
