Wassail at the Lickey Hills 13th January
Wassail in the Community Orchard, 4.15pm, Saturday 13 January 2018; meet at the Visitor Centre in Warren Lane
Wassailing is a rural Medieval English ritual intended to ensure a good fruit harvest.
This event is open to everyone and as in previous years, it is being organised by the Ranger Team in the Country Park.
Local Appalachian Step Dance Group, “Step on Board”, – dancers and musicians, will provide live music in the Visitor Centre prior to the Wassail.
Make sure that you wear warm clothing and wellies, have anything to make a noise to frighten off evil spirits and essentially, bring a sense of humour.
You may wish to bring a torch and an apple based beverage to drink the health of the fruit trees in the Community Orchard. The wassail bowl funded by the LHS will again be used this year.
