• UOB Conservation Volunteers begin work on “longest continuous orchard”

Great work by the University of Birmingham Conservation Volunteers this weekend. They began planting what will eventually be the longest continuous orchard in the world on 25 miles of canal side around the city. The project has been funded in part by HSBC as their UK head quarters are soon to be operational in Birmingham.

The UOB Conservation Volunteers cleared and flattened areas of scrub alongside the canal, planted 9 fruit trees and litter picked extensively.

Next week the group will be at helping at Cotteridge Park!
