The Architectural Heritage Fund

The Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) is a registered charity that promotes the conservation and regeneration of historic buildings in the UK and is now open to
applications.
Grants and low interest working capital loans are available to registered charities and constituted not for profit organisations to help with the regeneration of historic buildings.
The AHF can provide grants to help with assessing the viability of a project, or to fund development costs. Currently two types of grants are on offer:
Project Viability Grants (PVG) of up to £3,000 are available to fund short studies to look at potential uses for a building and at its current condition. This grant is administered on a
rolling basis.
The Fund also offers Project Development Grant funding of up to £25,000 to assist an organisation to cover some of the costs of developing and co-ordinating a project and
taking it towards the start of work on site.
Applications are considered at quarterly meetings and the next application deadline is the
12th August 2015.
The AHF also provides loan facilities to eligible charities and other not-for-profit organisations, either for the acquisition of a building, or to provide working capital
throughout a restoration project. Loans usually require some form of security, either a first legal charge or a repayment guarantee from a local authority.
