• Sport England opens Families Fund

Sport England has announced its latest funding programme to help families with children get active.
The Families Fund is an investment programme to support families with children to get active and play sport together. Organisations with a track record in changing behaviour with families in lower socioeconomic groups are invited to submit an expression of interest for the funding programme.
    The investment has three aims:

    • increasing activity levels of families in lower socio-economic groups whose children are not doing the recommended 60 minutes a day of physical activity or sport
    • support families to be active together throughout the week outside of school time
    • deliver positive experiences so that children can build confidence in their ability to be active.

It is anticipated that bids will be between £50,000 and £500,000 for up to four years of work. The fund opens on 6th July for expressions of interest and closes on 31st August.
