In response to the challenges of climate change, Birmingham has embarked on an ambitious 25 year plan which brings together agencies and individuals who have an interest in protecting the environment. The partnership, known as the City of Nature Alliance (CONA), has many different partners representing both the statutory and voluntary sectors and our part in the project is to help Birmingham residents engage with the plan by helping them to form Friends Of groups, access funding and enable the change and bring about the change they want to see in their local park or open space. At the moment, as well as sharing our experience and insight with partners, our work with residents is concentrated in 5 parks in the Highgate area (Highgate, Kingston Hill, Garrison Lane, Denbigh Street and New Hope parks).
