• Join Our Team – Two New Roles at BOSF

Sustaining open spaces by empowering communities

At Birmingham Open Spaces Forum (BOSF) we believe in the power of communities to shape and sustain the parks, green spaces, and verges that matter most to them. As part of our team, you’ll play a key role in making Birmingham greener, more inclusive, and better connected – both for people and for nature.

    What We Do

Each year we recruit volunteers to join our network. By bringing like-minded people together and encouraging them to form “Friends Of” groups, we’re building an active network of voluntary groups caring for their local parks and open spaces.

Collectively, our volunteers and Friends Of groups have a huge positive impact on Birmingham’s environment, wildlife, and climate – as well as enhancing the wellbeing of residents who use these spaces.

By joining our membership, volunteers and Friends Of groups gain the resources and support to deliver activities led by the wishes of their local communities.

    Why Work With Us?

You’ll join a dedicated and supportive team that values collaboration and community. You’ll work closely with residents, volunteers, Trustees, local organisations, and city-wide partners to make a meaningful impact.

We’re looking for people who are proactive, community-minded, and hands-on, ready to support grassroots efforts. If you care deeply about people, nature, and place – and want to help make Birmingham a greener, fairer city — we’d love to hear from you.
