Victoria Common (Friends of)
Victoria Common, Northfield was opened to the public in 1897. Formerly known as Bradley Field, it was once one of the village’s open fields where, in the middle ages, individual villagers held strips of land divided by deep furrows, creating a corrugated surface called ‘ridge and furrow’, still traceable today.
Friends of Victoria Common is a group set up to help develop Victoria Common as a community hub for Northfield and its residents. Activities run by the group to date include litter picking as part of ‘The Big Tidy Up’, bulb planting and fruit picking.
