Martineau Gardens Nomad Variety Fri 20 March
Nomad Variety are coming to Martineau Gardens, Edgbaston on Friday 20 March, 7pm for an evening of live entertainment. Including folk, jazz and blues music, comedy and spoken word, organiser David Rees-Jones has brought together an exciting line-up of local performers for this fundraising event.
Performing under the title, Nomad Variety, because the artists play in a range of venues across Birmingham, rather than any fixed abode, this will be their first session in the Martineau Gardens’ Studio. Confirmed for the evening are Karl Merrick blues/jazz guitarist; Nina Lewis performance poet; Rob Kemp comedian;Tom Christian comedy/ spoken word; Rich Stokes musical comedian and David Rees-Jones comedian/spoken word and compere for the evening.
The Community Garden, by day, runs the Therapeutic Horticulture project where local volunteers (some with mental health issues) come and tend the organic two and a half-acre varied landscape to create a place of tranquillity for all to enjoy. An evening of entertainment is a new direction for the Gardens. Caroline Hutton, Director of Martineau Gardens said:
“We’re looking forward to welcoming new faces to the Gardens, raise some funds for the charity and enjoy some great entertainment.”
