KHARnival 2018 Returns
Kings Heath Action for Refugees’ outdoor event KHARnival! returns for another year.
Highbury Orchard, 21 July 2018, 12:00 – 16:00
KHARnival! 2018 promises a family friendly fun afternoon of music, food, craftivism, workshops, glitter, woodland play and more!
With workshops from Birmingham Opera Company, Drum n Bounce, Barefoot Yoga and Music Shakers, there’s something for everyone.
There will be awesome food offerings from The Real Junk Food Project Birmingham and Change Kitchen – from summer salads to deliciously sweet cakes!
There will be a programme of live music performances including The Choir With No Name, Ali Forbes and Andrew Souter.
Take some time to listen and reflect with Writers Without Borders, who will be sharing spoken word and poetry in a calm, shaded area of the orchard.
KHAR will be there with their very own Shimmer Shack so you can get into the festival spirit with some eco-friendly glitter! You can take part in woodland play with Highbury Orchard Community and children can make their own summer bee with the Birmingham Artivistas.
Local agencies and organisations supporting newly arrived communities will be there to provide information about how to get involved and support refugees and asylum seekers in Birmingham.
The event is in aid of the Aegean Solidarity Network who support grassroots projects assisting refugees in transit in Greece.
They are looking for volunteers to help us on the day, to take part please click here!
