Job Advert – Active Neighbourhood Coordinator

Based in Tipton with delivery in Birmingham
Salary: £23,700 – £27,600
2 Year Fixed Post
Groundwork need a highly motivated and experienced individual to deliver their exciting, new Big Lottery funded Active Neighbourhoods project working with local families and communities in Birmingham.
Active Neighbourhoods is all about:
Empowering residents to develop and run a low cost programme of activities to increase use of local green space and reduce health inequalities as well as social isolation in priority neighbourhoods in Birmingham; and
Proving our model works by developing a robust Social Return on Investment evaluation to quantify the benefits promoting it as a way of operating for key local stakeholders and funders to improve community health outcomes.
You’ll need to be confident engaging and empowering residents so that together we develop and run a programme of activities that make a real difference to health inequalities and quality of life in our neighbourhoods.
You can expect support from a strong partnership including Birmingham City Council, Birmingham Open Spaces Forum, Family Housing (WM Housing), Midland Heart Housing, the National Housing Federation and Sanctuary Housing. Experience of engaging and supporting individuals and communities in a range of regeneration or other environmental projects is essential along with experience of working in partnership with private, public and voluntary sector organisations to deliver projects and programmes.
You’ll have excellent communication skills and a real passion for supporting community groups. Travel will be required so a full driving licence (or commitment to work towards this) is essential.
