Chelsea Gold Medal for Birmingham Parks

Congratulations to Birmingham City Council Parks for their Gold Medal at the 2016 Chelsea Flower Show.
The team lead by Darren Share, Head of Parks, was again awarded a Gold Medal for their outstanding display inspired by the ‘eye of a needle’ artwork of Willard Wigan.
Willard famously creates his tiny sculptures in the eye of a needle. The wonderful display shows the sculptures in their original tiny form and then re-created in willow by Park Manager Lee Southall and PHPO Stuart Unwin. All the flowers in the beautiful planting scheme were grown locally in the cities nurseries and the whole team worked tirelessly to create the award winning display.
