Building Communities in Birmingham at the EcoPark
The Birmingham & Black Country Wildlife Trust’s EcoPark in Bordesley Green has been shortlisted in the “My Comfort” category of the Jewson’s Building Communities fund with a potential prize of £150,000 to improve resources and put a community room on site so we can connect more people with the fantastic wildlife to be found in Birmingham.
Established by The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country over fifteen years ago EcoPark was a pioneering environmental site with much of the energy generated through renewable technologies.
Over the years EcoPark has suffered from under investment. We now aim to raise £200,000 to turn EcoPark into a flagship environmental education centre, open for public access, providing a programme of activities and events that will enable many thousand more children and their families to benefit from interaction with the natural environment.
