Bordesley Green Garden Horticulture Course Starting in September
Bordesley Green Forest Garden is in discussion with Solihull College regarding a free horticultural training and qualifications opportunities for Birmingham and Solihull residents.
The City and Guilds training has three tiers; Award, Certificate and Diploma.
The award is a fairly basic qualification and could be achieved in a matter of weeks, with the Certificate intermediate level and the Diploma advanced.
Anybody who is unemployed or in receipt of a benefit of some kind may be entitled to do these courses free of charge, with a simple commitment of one day a week required of participants.
These qualifications offer participants a pathway into formal horticultural employment, as well as providing them with an opportunity to be outdoors working with other people, while also contributing to what is a groundbreaking project to create the largest urban forest garden in the West Midlands.
The course will start in September.
