Birmingham Smithfield Consultation for New Public Space in Birmingham City Centre
The Birmingham Smithfield Market, also known as the Wholesale market, is to be transformed in to a public space. The visioning document sets out an idea for what the Wholesale Markets area could be like in the future and the discussion on its future is still open for public consultation until Thursday 14 May.
The vision will draw upon its vibrant heritage as the home of the markets and the location of the historic medieval manor house and moat. So Birmingham Smithfield calls on the area’s original name.

A Petition from a member of the Moorpool Community Park in Birmingham has also been created to ask for this space to be transformed in to a new Public Park in the city centre.

The consultation is intended to start the debate on the future of Birmingham Smithfield, enabling ideas to evolve and develop – so don’t miss the chance to have your say before Thursday 14th May!
