Active Parks Events this Summer at Kings Norton Park
Come and join the Friends of Kings Norton Park for free weekly Couch to 5K and Tai Chi.
Tai Chi is on every Wednesday over the summer from 6.00pm to 7.00pm.
Tai Chi combines deep breathing and relaxation with slow and gentle movements. All ages and abilities can take part and enjoy Tai Chi’s controlled relaxing movements and it’s a great way to start experiencing the benefits of exercising outdoors. No experience is necessary—please wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear.
Couch to 5K is run on every Saturday over the summer from 9.30am to 10.30am.
Taking up running can seem like a daunting project especially if you have never run before, feel out of shape or unfit. Our beginner programme is designed to get just about anyone off the couch and gradually work them up to running 5km (or for 30 minutes) in just 9 weeks. It is designed for absolute beginners using a mixture of walking and jogging to gradually build up fitness and stamina.
Meet by the car park on Westhill Road by the children’s play area for both activities.
