Coronavirus and Green Spaces
The Prime Minster yesterday stated ‘Parks and Open Spaces are so absolutely important for our country and society’. We all know how critical they are and currently even more so in maintaining our health and wellbeing for the foreseeable future.
Birmingham City Council has put out a press release about Access to Parks and Waste Collections. It can be seen by clicking here.
The main points about parks are:
“Actions relate to removing areas where people are congregating and not keeping the required social distancing of 2m“
Actions agreed:
- Play areas to be locked/taped shut and notices erected saying they are no longer in use.
- Outdoor gyms and MUGAs – signage to be applied to these too.
- All cafes, takeaways and mobile vendors should cease trading.
- Friends Groups to cease organised group workdays/activities to reduce all “organised” activity in parks.
All events listed on the BOSF website are currently postponed until further notice.
We at BOSF will be staying in touch with you all and updating you with any information you may need.
