DEFRA Consultations
The Department of the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs is currently doing two consultations.The first is an important consultation asking how changes to the planning systems can better support improvements to natural environments through biodiversity net gain. Secondly, Defra is consulting on the UK government’s proposals to introduce four new measures designed to increase transparency and accountability in the process of felling street trees and to strengthen the Forestry Commission’s power to tackle illegal tree felling.
