Active Summerfield Spring Nature Walks
Active Summerfield is hosting a series of FREE Spring Nature Walks, exploring different plants & wildlife in Summerfield.
Unless otherwise stated, the walks start at 11am for approximately 2 hours, meeting at the Ranger Lodge at Edgbaston Reservoir. Please dress appropriately for weather and walking.
15th April Ladywood Canal Walk – walk the towpath from Summerfield to the city
23rd April Reservoir Bat Walk – meet at 7.50pm at the Ranger’s Lodge at Edgbaston reservoir. A bat walk is your chance to learn more about these amazing nocturnal mammals, seeing & hearing them with the bat detectors. Remember to bring a torch!
30th April Edgbaston Reservoir & Harborne Walkway – walk the disused railway line
6th May Ladywood Canal Walk
14th May Harborne Walkway Bat Walk – meet at 8.30pm at Summerfield Park West Gate on Gillott Road. Remember to bring a torch!
28th May Easter Kids Nature Play – orienteering and nature treasure hunts around the reservoir for half term.
3rd June Ladywood Canal Walk
These walks are led by the Birmingham City Council Rangers and Brum Bats Volunteers
