• Great British Spring Clean 2020 is postponed for six months

The #gbspringclean has been RESCHEDULED to 11-27 September 2020

The campaign, run by Keep Britain Tidy has already had 689,935 volunteers sign up to litter-picking events.

However this year’s Great British Spring Clean has been forced to be put on hold because of the coronavirus outbreak. The campaign will now run from September 11 to 27 and organisers hope that everyone who has pledged to get involved will still do so.

From schoolchildren to pensioners, thousands have answered the call to spruce up streets, parks and beaches and it’s hoped many more will continue to sign up and be part of the bid to make Britain a cleaner place to live.

“Our first priority is to make sure everyone stays safe and well so, with no small measure of sadness, we have taken the decision to postpone this year’s Great British Spring Clean until September and will be running the Great British September Clean from September 11 – 27.” – Keep Britain Tidy

If your parks / open spaces Friends Group was hosting a litter pick as part of #GBspringclean 2020, we urge you not to cancel the event but just to postpone it later in the year. Register your support by making a pledge on the Keep Britain Tidy website here.
