General Election Manifesto Pledges

Lots of green space organisations are putting out their manifesto’s for our parks and green spaces – if you are going to meet your candidates, take these resources and ask for their support:

• Fields in Trust – their manifesto for parks is asking all candidates at the General Election to sign-up to a pledge to champion, support and protect the UK’s parks and green spaces. The full manifesto is online and they have begun to get candidates – from across the political spectrum – signing the pledge.
• Wildlife Trusts – their focus is on pushing for a stronger Environment Act covering land and marine environments.
• Keep Britain Tidy is focussing efforts for a cleaner and greener country.
• The London Friends of Green Spaces Network has also produced a letter reminding MPs of the value of green spaces.

The National Federation of Parks and Green Spaces (of which BOSF is a member), with 24 national and 170 regional or local organisations, continues to support the Charter for Parks.
