Biffa Award Small Grants Scheme

BIFFA AWARD HI-RESOften groups only need a small amount of money to make a difference to a local facility, be it a community building, nature reserve, cultural facility or outdoor space. The Small Grants Scheme offers quicker access to lower levels of funding to make these projects happen.

You can apply for between £250 and £10,000. Your project must not cost more than £30,000 in total.

You will need to find a third party contributor(s) to provide 5% of the grant you are applying for

Biffa Award – Main Grant Scheme

Under this scheme, they look to award grants to projects that provide or improve biodiversity, community spaces, cultural facilities, and places for outdoor recreation.

You can apply for between £10,000 and £50,000.

You will need to find a third party contributor(s) to provide 10% of the grant you are applying for.

SITA Enhancing Communities – Fast Track

SITA Trust logo colourSITA Trusts Fast Track Fund provides funding for physical improvements to community facilities.

There is a turnaround time of 8 weeks from application deadline to notification; and awards of up to £20,000.

If your organisation is operated on a not-for-profit basis, if your project has access for the public and your project location is within three miles of a qualifying SITA UK waste processing site you may be eligible to apply to the Fast Track Fund.

SITA Enhancing Communities Programme

Enhancing Communities is the name of SITA Trust’s funding programme for community improvement projects.

They support projects that make physical improvements to community leisure facilities and historic buildings / structures.

Grants of up to £60,000 are available to not-for-profit organisations whose community leisure amenity improvement project has an overall cost of no more than £250,000.

Veolia Environmental Trust

Veolia logoThey support community and environmental projects across the UK. These include improving community halls, creating new play areas and skate parks, and restoring green spaces.

The average award is between £20,000 and £40,000, with a maximum of £100,000

They consider capital improvement projects at a single site with a discrete start and end

WREN Small Grant Scheme

Wren logoThe Small Grant Scheme is designed to assist applicants looking for funding on small projects that can make a real difference to their local communities.

You can apply for funding between £2,000 and £15,000 with a total project cost of under £50,000

Be situated within 10 miles of a FCC Environment landfill site

WREN – Main Grant Scheme

WREN can fund a wide range of projects under Objects D of the Landfill Communities Fund.

Funding of between £15,001 and £75,000 is available for the provision, maintenance or improvement of a public park or other public amenity in the vicinity of a landfill site.

WREN – Biodiversity Action Fund

A project’s primary intent must relate to specific improvements to a site to aid the conservation of a priority habitat to help achieve national, regional or local biodiversity targets.

Grants of between £75,000 and £250,000 are available and projects can last for up to 5 years. WREN should be the significant funder of your project.
