“Towards an Active Nation” is Sport England’s new strategy which focuses on increasing the number of people who engage in sport and physical activity for wider benefits.
A key aspect of the new strategy is a greater focus on engaging inactive individuals in sport and physical activity by investing £250 million to combat inactivity.
Over the next five years Sport England will focus on engaging inactive participants as this is where the potential gains for the individual and society are greatest. At least 25% of their investment over the next five years will directly target inactive people – the biggest investment to combat inactivity in England to date.
